What may be included in a Naturopathic Consultation?

>>Muscle Response Testing (MRT)

MRT is a form of applied kinesiology that can help identify a variety of potential ailments and imbalances. The foundation of MRT is the Law of Motion, which states “for every reaction in nature, there is an equal and opposite reaction”. MRT takes this concept and applies it to the human body; meaning that any internal issue will be accompanied by a related muscle weakness and that the appropriate remedies introduced into the human energy field will bring one’s body back to balance where the muscle will then test strong.

>>Iridology

A technique that analyzes the patterns, colors, and other characteristics of the iris to determine information about a client’s systemic health and predisposition to tissue weaknesses. Practitioners match their observations to an iris chart, which divides the iris into zones that correspond to specific parts of the body and can then recommend appropriate treatments for the client.

>>Emotional Release Technique

The emotional release technique will help you heal by improving your mental health and overall well-being. This is usually not a single solution or quick fix. This technique should be regularly practiced, and it may take several sessions to fully heal from a traumatic event. When something affects you deeply, it leaves an emotional wound. The wound can only be healed by processing it naturally, and this is where emotional release technique can be helpful. Until that wound has healed over, it can continue to develop and contribute to “dis-ease” throughout your mental, emotional, and physical bodies.

>>Homeopathy

A two-hundred-year-old system of medicine based on the principle of “like cures like”. It is an extremely effective and non-toxic way to heal and balance the body, using extremely dilute preparations of natural substances to stimulate the body’s self-healing mechanisms. Homeopathic treatments consider the person as a whole; with mental, emotional, and physical aspects.

>>Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

Traditional Chinese Medicine, which encompasses many different practices, is rooted in the ancient philosophy of Taoism and dates back more than 5,000 years.

The theoretical framework of TCM has several key components:

ï Yin-yang theory—the concept of two opposing, yet complementary, forces that shape the world and all life—is central to TCM.

ï In the TCM view, a vital energy or life force called “qi” circulates in the body through a system of pathways called meridians. Health is an ongoing process of maintaining balance and harmony in the circulation of qi.

ï The TCM approach uses eight principles to analyze symptoms and categorize conditions: cold/heat, interior/exterior, excess/deficiency, and yin/yang (the chief principles). TCM also uses the theory of five elements—fire, earth, metal, water, and wood—to explain how the body works; these elements correspond to specific organs and tissues in the body.

>>Ayurvedic Medicine

Ayurveda is a 5,000-year-old system of natural healing that’s truly stood the test of time. First originating in the Vedic culture of India, it’s considered by many to be the oldest healing science there is. Ayureveda is based on the premise that there are three doshas:

  • Vata
  • Pitta
  • Kapha

A core belief of Ayurveda is that disease and illness stem from an imbalance in the three energies and a disconnect from nature. One of the principles of Ayurveda, and what makes it stand apart from Western medicine, is that it considers “bio-individuality” and one’s body-mind-spirit connection. Rather than treating symptoms with drugs and ignoring the underlying problems, this system aims to look at the root causes of diseases and how they are related to a person’s thoughts, beliefs, and lifestyle — in other words, a person’s “vital energy.”

Bodywork Services:

Reiki

Reiki is comprised of two Japanese words-Rei “Higher Power or Wisdom” and Ki “Life Force Energy”. So, Reiki is “spiritually guided life force energy”. It is a simple, yet effective, way to increase one’s energy flow throughout the body.  Everything that exists in nature is truly of energetic form. Our energy bodies precede our physical form. All illness manifests in one’s field and then appears in our physical body. Working with a client’s morphogenic energy field and clearing the energetic debris and stagnation, allows one to quickly see and feel physical symptoms, encouraging the physical body to heal. Reiki is a form of bodywork that balances one’s entire energetic field and, therefore, their physical body.

Craniosacral Functional Normalization

This form of craniosacral is a gentle method for detecting and correcting imbalances in the craniosacral system (which extends from the skull down to the tailbone). Functional normalization may correct sensory, motor, and neurological dysfunction as well as release tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and improve whole body health.

Reflexology

The feet are essentially a map to the entire human body as there are over 7,200 nerve endings on the bottoms of the feet that correspond with every organ and gland!  Reflexing the feet with the practitioner’s fingers and thumbs can lead to profound relaxation and symptom relief. One also might experience reduced stress, pain reduction, tension relief, improved circulation, improved nutritional assimilation, and removal of toxins from the body.

Ionic Foot Soak

The chemical reaction of high-quality salt with the ionic array causes your body to eradicate whatever it does not want through the soles of your feet to promote wellness at a cellular level. Many get sick because their detox systems (think liver, kidneys, lungs, gallbladder etc.) get clogged for various reasons. When water is ionized and split into H+ and OH- ions (and sometimes into H3O+ and H2O2 ions), these ions can enter the body through the 4,000 large pores of the feet. Then the circulatory and lymphatic systems transport the ions throughout the body. These ions neutralize oppositely charged toxins in the cells that are normally slow to exit the body. In this way, all the body’s organs can become energized and stimulated to function optimally. The body then rids itself of these toxins through its normal processes of waste removal.

Investment: $40 (45 minutes total with 30 minutes for the soak)
